PanARMENIAN.Net - Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmu, during a meeting with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on the sidelines of the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, stated that Ankara attaches importance to peace and stability in the Caucasus and stressed the need to intensify joint efforts.
Kurtulmu said that the Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan trilateral cooperation mechanism should be strengthened and that broader cooperation could be pursued by also involving Armenia in this format, Factor.am reports.
He also drew attention to regional conflicts, noting that Turkey prioritizes peace and stability in the Black Sea, the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Caucasus. According to him, the formation of a stable environment could contribute to economic development and increased prosperity.
Earlier, Kurtulmu had also referred to prospects for developing trilateral dialogue between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
