PanARMENIAN.Net - Authorities in Turkey are closely monitoring work on the section of the "Zangezur corridor" passing through Kars, Kars Governor Ziya Polat said.
According to him, he had long hoped to see the implementation of this transport project, APA reported.
"The Zangezur corridor will play the role of an important bridge by strengthening ties with Central Asia. We hope this project will be implemented in the near future. Just as our hearts are united, our roads will also be connected. The presidents of the two countries provide strong support to this process and are actively involved.
Several meetings have already been held on the border with Armenia. All developments and steps related to the process are being carried out under the supervision and coordination of official Ankara," the governor said.
In Washington, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States - Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Donald Trump - formally agreed to launch the Trump Route.
"The route will allow Azerbaijan to reach Nakhchivan while fully respecting Armenia's sovereignty. Armenia is also establishing an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor. The term may be extended for up to 99 years, and it has been promised that after 99 years it will be extended for another 99 years. We expect significant infrastructure development, and American companies are eager to enter these countries and invest large sums, which will bring economic benefits to all three states," Trump said.
On September 11, Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia had not leased land to the U.S. side for 99 years but had granted development rights.
