Bulgarian gov't, defense industry sign memorandum on improving interaction

SOFIA, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian officials signed a memorandum on Wednesday to boost collaboration between the government and the country's defense industry.

The agreement aims to improve coordination between state institutions, science, and defense businesses.

Key goals include easing regulations, enhancing production and export capabilities, and increasing Bulgaria's involvement in international defense projects.

The country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev said Bulgaria will invest billions in military modernization over the next decade and emphasized the need to harness domestic industrial potential rather than rely solely on foreign suppliers.
