PanARMENIAN.Net - During President Vahagn Khachaturyan's state visit to Greece, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of high technologies. The document was signed by Armenia's First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan and Greece's First Deputy Minister of Digital Governance Christos Dermentzopoulos.

Speaking to journalists about the significance of the memorandum, Mantashyan said Armenia has accumulated solid experience in technological cooperation with Greece, and the work carried out so far, along with future directions, has been consolidated in the signed document, Armenpress reports.

"With Greece we have friendly relations, and it is no coincidence that we are engaging our partners with a broad agenda. Today we are outlining the directions in which we will move forward. There are many of them - digitalization, cloud technologies. Greece has interesting experience in this area that we are interested in," Mantashyan said.

The deputy minister also stressed that the deepening of Armenia-U.S. relations and the expected American investments and projects in the technology sector have generated significant interest among Armenia's other partners.

It was confirmed that permission has been granted to export another batch of high-performance chips produced by NVIDIA to Armenia. According to Vance, such chips are simply unavailable in most of the world. They will be used to build an artificial intelligence supercomputing center. The first results of the project are expected to become visible later this year.
