PanARMENIAN.Net - In a special video message, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on receiving the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity.
"I attach great importance both to my brother Ilham Aliyev's bold steps toward establishing lasting peace and to Nikol Pashinyan's demonstrated strong resolve," Erdogan stated, according to Radar Armenia.
He expressed hope that a new chapter will open for the Caucasus.
"I believe that once the agreement, whose goals and format have been agreed upon by both parties, comes into force, a new page will open for the Caucasus. Turkey sincerely supports all initiatives aimed at ensuring security, peace, prosperity, and stability in the region and across the world," Erdogan said.
On February 4, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Azerbaijani President received the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi. Pashinyan emphasized that the award honors not only state leaders but also the two peoples who, in his view, share in the peace process.
