ATHENS, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Three bodies were found after an explosion at a food factory in the central Greek city of Trikala, while two workers remain missing, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday.

The explosion occurred in the early hours of Monday at the "Violanta" biscuit factory and triggered a fire, said the report. The bodies were recovered several hours later, and rescue operations are continuing to locate the missing workers.

The blast caused severe damage to the factory building. Preliminary reports indicated that the explosion may have originated near the ovens, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
