Armenia, Bulgaria discuss COP17 preparations

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan and Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Nikola Nikolov discussed preparations and agenda priorities for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.

Matevosyan affirmed Armenia's commitment to making COP17 a vital platform for environmental decision-making, strengthening international priorities, and developing strategic documents.

The meeting also touched on broader environmental topics, including cooperation in water resource management, climate policy exchange, and opportunities for joint projects and capacity-building.

Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in sustainable development, climate adaptation, and environmental protection.

They reaffirmed their willingness to continue effective collaboration and strengthen dialogue to achieve practical, mutually beneficial outcomes.

COP17 will be held in Yerevan's Meridian Expo Center from October 18 to 30, 2026.
