Bulgaria reports bird flu outbreak on three farms

SOFIA, 27th August, 2025 (WAM) - Bulgaria has reported new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) on three farms in the southern part of the country, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) has announced.

The H5N1 virus was confirmed in a flock of 28,000 birds in the town of Rakovski.
