FRANKFURT, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 50.36 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 15,472.56 points.
Multinational software corporation SAP lost 3.21 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by manufacturing and electronics company Siemens and publicly traded meal-kit company HelloFresh which lost 2.48 percent and 2.10 percent respectively.
International pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment supplier Sartorius gained 4.29 percent, becoming the top gainer. Pharmaceutical company Merck and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen advanced 2.70 percent and 2.67 percent respectively.
SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 412.39 million euros (479.90 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 0.23 percent to close at 1.585 euros per share on Thursday.
